1.1 this specification covers multiple grades of carbon and alloy steel seamless mechanical pipes.
These grades are listed in table 1-3. When welding is used to connect weldable mechanical joints
For pipe class, welding procedures shall be applicable to pipe class and conditions
Components and expected services.

1.2 This specifification covers both seamless hot-fifinished mechanical tubing and seamless 

cold-fifinished mechanical tubing in sizes up to and including 12 3 ⁄4 in. (323.8 mm) outside

diameter for round tubes with wall thicknesses as required.1.3 The tubes shall be furnished

in the following shapes, as specifified by the purchaser: round, square, rectangular, and

special sections.

2.2 If a specifific type of melting is required by the purchaser, it shall be as stated 

on the purchase order.
